How to Paint a Portrait in Watercolor

Watercolor painting techniques – Brush Control

In this article I will share some techniques to control the brush. Some would say this is probably the most important part of painting with watercolors. Without proper control brush, depending on what you are trying to accomplish, you will not reach your destination … whatsoever. So hopefully, this article will help you do happen.

Although it is not possible to go all the techniques of brushing, I'll cover some of the key. The first technique is called color bands. It's actually very simple. What you do is choose a color and draw a sort of line with her, preferably curved. Then you take another color, just below the first line, try to draw a line identical in form with the second color. You can Then repeat with a third, fourth and so on. The resulting image will be very interesting if done well. The key is to leave just enough space between each line so that the colors do not wash together.

Another cool technique is thick and thin. This is where you begin to paint a line so that it starts thick, but then begins to thin and back to thick again and so on until you have completed the entire length of the line. This is accomplished by simply applying a lot of pressure at the beginning to create the thick line, then easing to create the thin end. This is a very effective technique.

Then of course there is the technical flick your wrist. This is really good for painting things like the grass. The technique takes some practice but once you master it, it is too cool. Say you want to paint a little grass. What you do is start at the bottom of the canvas, where the grass is starting (as if it were growing out of the ground) and then scroll up the brush. With a little practice, it will actually start to look like a real blade of grass. This is of course assuming you are using the watercolors correct.

Can you make eye shadow paint in watercolor?

I wonder if I crush and press cake of painting is it acceptable to use as eye shadow, and also how.

I used to do with markers So I would say, why not, but I think you should try with colors you do not like initially. Make a paste with paint crushed and a drop of water. It should work well.
