Faux finish stenciling can create the illusion of wallpaper

Faux finish stenciling is an inexpensive way to add decorative details. The key is to apply the embossing material evenly over the stencil, building depth in thin layers. It is certainly true that stencils can wake up a wall or create an eye-catching detail on a cabinet door.

You need the stencil, paint and a brush or sponge tool apply the paint. You can buy stencils with instructions and registration marks, or make your own. As with other decorative techniques, the simplest arrangements are usually more successful.

Once dry, faux finish stenciling pictures may be slightly sanded to soften or age them. Supply and good quality care stencil is key. If you find a painting, drawing, photo or potential large stencil, it is not difficult to use that image to generate a stencil.

Apply the stencil as a border on the ceiling, paneling and baseboards, or as an all-over pattern, like wallpaper. If the stencil is too rise with paint, or if you want to save for another day, wipe clean with a detergent and dry on paper towels.

Test your habits, or by cutting the stencil from colored paper or by drawing on a sheet of paper and holding the results against the surface to decorate. The wall to be painted must be clean. Apply a base coat of paint.

Hold the stencil in place with tape adhesive, load your brush or sponge with only a very small amount of paint from the edges of the design and interior work hold the stencil in place for a few moments later to dry. Clean and reapply the stencil paint if necessary.

my walls are white and have a border of wood and closet doors are a coral color. But IAM will repaint the border and closet doors. I will let my white walls too. I want to paint the word dream on my wall. Is there a stencil or something where I can obtain letters, and I do not have the hands? I want to paint each letter a different color. Any ideas? Thank you!
